Punderson State Park, Newbury, Ohio
In the spring of 2024, a group of dedicated wild food foragers are bringing a hands-on educational experience to the Northeastern Ohio and Northwestern Pennsylvania region. Held at the beginning of the season, the event combines education and recreation. Even if you live in the city, the knowledge and techniques easily translate to urban foraging. This is our debut! Come celebrate wild foods, share knowledge, and develop or hone your skills. Spend the day with us learning to identify and forage wild foods.
The Ohio Wild Food Fest will be held at Punderson State Park in Newbury, Ohio. People of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels are welcome! Experience the different wild foods found around lakes, wetlands, prairies, and forests of this beautiful and diverse park.
The offerings for this day-long event include:
- Finding and identifying mushrooms
and wild edible plants - Cooking demonstrations
- Winter tree identification
